WHAT DOES A HAUNTING LOOK LIKE?  WHAT ARE ITS COMMON CHARACTERISTICS?

Some outward manifestations which one may see in their home include:

- Objects which seem to move on their own

- Observed objects disappear

- Translocation occurs where an object which has disappeared will reappear in an unrelated area and without human influence

- Objects apparently fly or levitate in a room or on the property

- Auditory phenomena such as knocking, banging, scratching sounds within the walls and ceiling, growling, voices, unexplained music

- Religous articles such as Bibles, crosses, crucifixes etc are missing or destroyed without human influence

- Spontaneous fires which have no known cause once they are investigated by qualified personnel

- Foul odors such as the smell of a corpse decaying or another unpleasant odor

- Odd behaviors from animals such as staring at a particular spot on a wall, growling at "nothing," becoming spooked, etc.

- Temperature changes which are out of the norm such as icy spots on a warm summer day or intense heat in an otherwise cold or icy environment which cannot be explained by a natural phenomena or human influence

- The sensation of a breeze or wind upon a person when there is no vent, fan, or open window which could account for it

- A person in the home may be physically attacked by scratches (in a pattern of three), biting, hair pulling, sexual assault, etc.

- A person may experience unusual or patterned bruising which cannot be explained by a blood disorder or other medical condition

 

WHAT IS SLEEP PARALYSIS AND IS IT PARANORMAL?

Sleep paralysis is a rare but natural process of waking up when your brain essentially wakes up before your body does. This can be very frightening for a number of reasons including an inability to move, a sense of presence in the room with you, a pressure on your chest, audio or visual hallucinations caused by a waking brain from a dream-like state. However, if the individual reports patterned bruising, physical attacks, or other phenomena which can be evidenced quantifiably then it may be of a paranormal nature.

 

COULD THE SPIRIT BE A DECEASED LOVED ONE?

It is possible. However one must be cautious in their approach to this. We are warned in the scriptures that many spirits or demons will manifest themselves as a loved one to garner sympathy from the victim. This sympathy creates an atmosphere where the entity can then indulge itself upon the victim and create havoc in their life. A cautious approach to this is wise and if the entity creates chaos in your life it's a safe bet that it isn't a loved one. Bereavement may increase one's susceptibility to this process.

 

DO CHILDREN GET STUCK ON EARTH SOMETIMES AFTER DEATH?

Thankfully no. A child cannot be stuck upon the earth because we read in the scriptures that "their angels always behold the face of the Father in heaven." - St. Matthew 18:10  However, many spirits will imitate a child to garner sympathy for the same reasons as stated above. It creates an openness in the victim due to sympathy and the entity can attach itself at that point if it is invited to do so because it is a "child."

 

IS IT TRUE THAT A PERSON WHO DIES VIOLENTLY MAY BECOME STUCK ONCE THEY PASS?

We don't truly know. However, there is anecdotal evidence that one may remain in the place of their demise if it was due to murder or another violent crime. We read in the Book of the Apocalypse (Revelation) that those who are murdered for Christ's sake stand beneath the throne and cry out for justice. This may be a literal host under the throne in heaven or a methaphor for the lost crying out from the earth since we read elsewhere that the "earth is His footstool" which would be under the throne.  If we believe that this is the case during the course of an investigation we will pray for the soul and ask that Christ take it into his bosom.

 

WHAT IS A DEMON?

There are typically two schools of thought on the origins of demons. The first is that they are the fallen angels which chose to rebel against God due to the sin of pride. In this thought process they are seen as the original rebels and therefore instigate further rebellion against God.  The second thought on their origin is that they are separate from the fallen angels and are actually the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim which were created by the hybridization between the Watchers and women. Since the hybrid was never meant to exist but came about through disobedience their spirits were irrevocably damaged and evil too. As a result, once they died they were forced to roam the earth and are vaguely humanoid in appearance. This could explain why these demons need a person, place, or thing to attach itself to in order to feel alive again but also turn the individual theyve attached to against God. This is a result of their own bastardization and resentment toward the Creator.  These spirits in life were male due to the hybridization process. This may account for some of the shadow men/people reports but, again, it is not fully known.  As a bishop and exorcist, I personally align with the second line of thought since the original rebels are infinitely more powerful than many "common" demons and are typically attached to entire territories, tribes, or nations.

 

ARE THERE VARIOUS TYPES OF SPIRITS?

Yes very much so and there are varying levels of power associated with their place in the heirarchy of hell. We have Christian writings from the Middle Ages which are based on older Judaic writings that detail the heirarchy of both angels and demons.

 

CAN SPIRITS MOVE OBJECTS, MAKE NOISES, OR ATTACH THEMSELVES TO PEOPLE?

Absolutely. A spirit may infest and manifest within a person's life in a host of ways. To see what common types of phenomena occur please refer to the first question in this list.

 

WILL I BE SAFE ONCE THE CLEANSING/EXORCISM IS COMPLETE?

I would love to say "absolutely" as many experience a complete and final cleansing of a home or property wherein they report total safety and security. We cannot guarantee that one cleansing will work but a second one is generally not warranted. However, there are a variety of factors which affect the long term outcomes including the magnitude of power which the entity commands, the strongholds of sin in a person's life which the entity has co-created with the victim, any occult ties which still exist in the home or property which haven't been broken, unaddressed attachments in a client's life, etc.

 

HOW WILL I KNOW THAT IT IS GONE?

There are some common manifestations which occur when the entity has left the home or property. These include a sensation that the atmosphere "feels lighter," the "room seems brighter," there may be a smell of roses or a heavenly perfume, and/or a divine sense of peace will descend upon the house or property. These are signs to indicate the spirit or spirits have departed.

 

IS THERE A CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE?

Never. We are told in the scriptures, "Freely you have been given, freely give." This is a ministry of grace and a concerted pursuit of knowledge. We seek to better understand the nature of reality and to serve Christ and mankind through our services. You may, however, donate to our team for equipment costs or traveling expenses but there shall be no demand for services rendered and you'll see no "stink eyes" for not donating. :)

 

WHAT CAN I DO TO KEEP THE INFERNAL DOOR CLOSED FOR GOOD?

First and foremost, examine your personal life and determine if there have been choices in your past that had contributed to the entity's hold or attachment upon the home or property such as drug use, alcoholism, occult activities, paganism, etc. These behaviors in the past may have contributed to the attachment, or even if they haven't, please avoid these behaviors in the future. It is imperative that you act in good faith with your spiritual life and never call upon spirits or practice the occult after the cleansing. WARNING: If you do so, the original entity will bring itself back into the life and home of the individual as well as bring seven others more wicked than itself. Your final state will be worse than the first.
